Features & Functionality
How does auto-save work?
Auto-save works differently based on your account status:
For Guests (No Account):
- • Saves to your browser's local storage every 1 second
- • Data persists until you clear browser data
- • Limited to current device only
For Signed-in Users:
- • Saves to cloud database every 2 seconds
- • Syncs across all your devices
- • Permanent storage with backup
What is focus mode and how do I use it?
Focus mode creates a distraction-free writing environment by hiding all interface elements except your text. It's perfect for long writing sessions and creative work.
How to use:
- • Click the "Focus Mode" button in the editor toolbar
- • Press ESC key to exit focus mode quickly
- • Your work continues to auto-save while in focus mode
How many documents can I create?
There's no limit to the number of documents you can create when signed in. For guests using local storage, the limit depends on your browser's storage capacity, but you can typically store many documents before reaching any limits.
What is mask mode and when should I use it?
Mask mode is a privacy feature that hides sensitive information when you're screen sharing, in video calls, or giving presentations. It's enabled by default when you sign in.
What gets masked:
- • Document titles in the sidebar
- • Your profile name and picture
- • Document preview text
Can I download my documents?
Yes, you can download any document as a text file (.txt) using the download button in the editor toolbar. The file will be named automatically based on your document's title.
